Jonathan Proctor was born and raised in Lugoff, where his family has deep roots and strong ties to the community. Family values shaped his upbringing and continue to guide his approach to leadership today. 

Jonathan attended local schools before earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Coastal Carolina University. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic—working local jobs, supporting himself through school, and learning firsthand the value of responsibility and service.

After returning home, Jonathan built a career serving Kershaw County families through his work in the funeral services profession. As a licensed funeral director and embalmer, he has spent years helping families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments with compassion, professionalism, and respect. In 2021, Jonathan co-founded Peaceful Paws Mortuary & Crematory in Lugoff, expanding local services and supporting small-business growth.

Jonathan and his wife, Heather, are raising their four children in Kershaw County. Their family is active in their church, where Jonathan serves as an usher, and they remain involved in local schools, youth activities, and community life.

Jonathan currently serves on the Kershaw County Planning & Zoning Commission, the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce Board, and the Kershaw County Responsible Growth Committee. These roles have given him firsthand insight into the challenges facing the county and reinforced his belief that thoughtful, conservative leadership matters at the local level.
